      <image:title>ABOUT - Pilates &amp; Me</image:title>
      <image:caption>Born in Ireland, I was always active as a kid. Swimming, rounders (our version of baseball) and athletics kept me busy. I first moved to Canada in 2001 with my then boyfriend, now husband, Rowan. We both worked for the same organization and were transferred to Toronto as part of a team tasked with launching what was a successful business in the UK and Ireland, in Canada.  However, it wasn’t all work. Rowan and I both learned to snowboard and spent our winters going to as many ski hills as we could. I took a bad tumble one day which ended my snowboarding ‘career’ but introduced me to Pilates. My pelvis was injured and I needed to work with a physiotherapist to realign my spine and pelvis and develop core strength. We were using techniques that I now recognize as Pilates, movements that I teach today!</image:caption>

      <image:caption>After a few weeks of treatment I started weekly Pilates classes. I remember exactly how I felt after the first class, ‘6 feet tall’, ‘ballerina-esque!’ We had spent the hour doing what I can only describe as gentle movement (plus I was clearly the youngest person in the class) but the impact on my body was incredible and I was hooked! That was 20 years ago.  fast forward to today… …and I am a STOTT Certified Pilates Instructor. I teach Pilates on the Mat, Reformer, Chair, Ladder Barrel and Cadillac. I guide group classes and coach 1-1 private sessions with the goal of making people move with more freedom, control, reason and power! I am also a wife to Rowan and a ‘Mama’ to three gorgeous kids, Tom, Emily and Kate. Toronto is home.</image:caption>
